Running Resources

Below is a list of online running resources that I use. Some of these running resources include paid sites for training plans, race organizers, running groups or products that I use when I train and run marathons. I have some affiliate links listed below. These are products that I use, and if you like them also and use the link, I get a small portion from your purchase for no extra cost to you. You do not need to buy anything, but if you want to help support me, please use the affiliate links listed below.

As this site grows, I will do reviews on different products, and you will be able to check out my review. If you would like to have me review products or list it on my running resource list, please send me a message through my contact page.

Running Fuel

  • Run Gum – This sugar-free gum is full of caffeine there are 2 pieces in a package. One pice is equal to a soda, and two pieces equal a cup of coffee. The flavor doesn’t last too long, but for a quick boost of energy, this gum is amazing. I would choose to have run gum over a cup of coffee before a race. If you buy off amazing order a monthly subscription to save.
  • Clif Energy Blocks – During long runs over an hour and a half I will have some Clif blocks. I prefer strawberry. I like the blocks because I tend to not like the consistency of the Gue. However, if you are going to use the gue here a link for some. The thing with taking energy block or Gue you do not have to have it every 30 to 45 minutes as they say on the packaging. I have found if I am doing a long run 1 1/2 hours or longer or a half marathon or full marathon I use them. Any other time I do not. When I do use them for a long run and races I take blocks every 45 minutes into the run then maybe every hour after.
  • Nuun Electrolyte Tablets-  I have always struggled to find an electrolyte replacement that it not full of sugar. I do not like the taste of the low sugar drinks, and most powders seem a little chalky to me. Nuun is the best thing I have found. You just put one of the tablets into your water bottle and wait for 5 minutes, then its dissolved and ready to go. Plus traveling to races they are much easier to pack, then trying to take powder drink mix and getting stopped by TSA. (Which happened to me every time before I discovered Nuun)
  • Oats Over Nights – This high protein oatmeal is simple and easy. You just poor the packet in with 8oz of almond milk and leave over night. I have found that it is perfect to take to hotel rooms, and great to have after I am done with my morning worksouts.

Favorite Race Organizers

Favorite Running Clubs

  •  Marathon Manics – Marathon running club for those manics who like to run multiple marathons within weeks of each other. The minimum criteria to join this running club is to run 2 marathons within 16 days of each other or run 3 marathons within less than 90 days. As a club member, you also can get a discount to a number of marathons. This site is also great to find upcoming marathons all around the world.
  •  Half-Fanatics – The sister club to the Marathon Manics is the same just focused on half-marathons. Joining criteria is the same as it is for Marathon Manics just change the distances to half-marathons. Even if you do not join them, their website list many upcoming half-marathons all around the world.
  • 50 States Marathon Club – This club can be joined by anyone who has run a marathon in all 50 states within the united states. Their website is not the most user-friendly, but it doesn’t have to be. Because if you ran over 50 marathons you get bragging right no matter what.

Equipment for Filming

Here is a list of what I use to film my YouTube Videos, from inside my house to at the expos and during marathons and half marathons.

  • Go Pro Hero 7  – This is what I use during my training runs, half-marathons, and full marathons. For half-marathons I normally replace the battery halfway through the race, so I would need 3 battery backups for a full marathon. So if you want to record during a race make sure that you have enough battery power. I have my go pro shorty mini extension pole tripod. This is easy to run with, can extend so I can film different angels, and is also a tripod so I can set it down and record myself running
  • iPhone X – Currently I just use my iPhone to vlog when I am going to expo’s and traveling.
  • DJ Osmo – I plug my iPhone into this gimbal to make sure I get steady shots when I am traveling.
  • Rode Microphone – This is small but powerful little microphone that I use to get better sound when I am recording.
